Our American Bachelor of Science in Business Administration is a four year, career-oriented international business program with strong ties to the international marketplace. This program offers three concentrations: finance, marketing, and hospitality management. NOT ACCEPTING NEW STUDENTS

Practical Information

 

Students have the option of choosing a concentration in the final two years in either finance, marketing, or hospitality management.

 

FINANCE CONCENTRATION

The purpose of the Finance Concentration is to educate graduates to understand practice and are able to apply theories and methodologies within international business and finance and who can perform advisory and administrative functions including customer-oriented tasks in the specific financial market place as well as in the finance departments of enterprises.

MARKETING CONCENTRATION

The purpose of the Marketing Concentration is to educate graduates to understand practice and are able to apply theories and methodologies within international business and marketing and who can independently and professionally perform duties related to international business and marketing in the international market place.

HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT CONCENTRATION

The purpose of the Hospitality Management Concentration is to educate graduates to understand practices, apply theories and methodologies within international business and hospitality management, and perform advisory and administrative functions including customer-oriented tasks in specific hospitality markets, as well as larger hospitality and tourism enterprises in general.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

* High school diploma or equivalent. Foreign transcripts will be assessed by the Niels Brock enrollment officers with the assistance of approved credit evaluation service agencies.

* Minimum of 250 hours in high school level Mathematics or Business Economics. Please have your previous education institution(s) complete the verification form.

* Essay (max 250 words). Please answer in your essay: Given your personal background, describe an experience that illustrates how your presence as an active member of our student body would add diversity to the college community. Or describe an encounter you have had that demonstrated the importance of diversity to you.

* ACT/SAT Test Results (optional)

* English Proficiency exam results. Applicants that come from countries with English as an official language and the language of instruction in higher education are exempt. Please refer to the following list to see if you are exempt.

TRANSFER OF CREDITS

Transfer of credits may be given to students who have already completed equivalent courses prior to starting the BSc program. Such courses will be assessed individually by the Niels Brock enrollment officers/academic advisers. Successfully completed Niels Brock BSc coursework taken at one of our campuses abroad transfers automatically.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

All applicants must submit to the Admissions Office:

  1.      Application for admission (See 'Application' tab below)
  2.      Official high school transcripts and diploma translated into English*
  3.      Verification form confirming Mathematics and Business Economics background
  4.      English proficiency test results or letter stating why you are exempt
  5.      Essay (max. 250 words). Please answer in your essay: Given your personal background, describe an experience that illustrates how your presence as an active member of our student body would add diversity to the college community. *Official transcript from each institution attended. Applicants from non-English speaking countries must provide an official literal English translation of their official school records.

SPRING SEMESTER (JANUARY)

For the spring semester, all courses will commence in week 5. All exams for the spring semester will take place from week 22.

FALL SEMESTER (AUGUST)

In the fall semester, courses will commence mid-August and finish early December after which the students will attend their final exams. The detailed plan will be decided upon in cooperation between the program management and faculty.

Emphasizing a generalist and career-oriented approach to management education, the BSc program trains students to become well-rounded employees and middle managers who can analyze problems and propose workable solutions.

As to further education, students who successfully complete our BSc, and meet the admission requirements, will be given direct access to our Master of Science in International Business Management.

Graduates may also apply to one of the many Master's programs within business studies offered at other Danish and foreign universities.

Enrollment will depend on the specific admission requirements of the receiving university.

Niels Brock Copenhagen Business College is an officially acknowledged Danish vocational college offering vocational upper secondary education and training programs accredited by the state according to the Consolidation Act on Vocational Education and Training no. 1269 of November 29th 2017

Niels Brock operates as an international school offering postsecondary programs on the basis of;

  • Franchise agreement with De Montfort University, Leicester, UK
  • Franchise agreement with Middlesex University, London, UK
  • Accreditation by American Accreditation Council of Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS)

The American Bachelor Program; BSc in Business Administration, is recognized to be comparable to a Danish Bachelor Degree within Business Administration. Consequently, graduates from the BSc in Business Administration are eligible to apply for postgraduate programs at Danish institutions. Read more here

The Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) is listed as a national (American) recognized accrediting agency by the American Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the American Departement of Education*. Niels Brock - Copenhagen Business College is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration is included in Niels Brock - Copenhagen Business College's grant of accreditation

Notice to students and prospective students: The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at Niels Brock Copenhagen Business College has been placed on student achievement show-cause by their accreditor, the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (“ACICS”), due to material noncompliance with its placement rate standard of 60%.

Niels Brock is placed under "student achievement show-cause” due to missing placement data verification concerning students from our partner Wenzhou University, in Wenzhou China.

Niels Brock CBC is currently accredited by ACICS. However, ACICS’ position as accreditor has been challenged by the United States Departement of Education. As a consequence, Niels Brock CBC is not enrolling new students into this program.
